Perfect Birthday Even Though….

•December 3, 2012 • 1 Comment

….I was at work all day.

The night before, my son presented me with chocolate mini cakes and candles when I got home from work. ūüôā

At around 7:30 AM ¬†my mom and pop sand Happy Birthday to me over the phone ūüôā

I received an email from my aunt in Germany and my middle sister and brother in-law  wishing me Happy Birthday.

Then off to work.  When I got there my co-workers had signed a birthday card for me.

Then at around 2 PM I went home to get some lunch.  After I ate, I had a surprise at my door.  My little sister had stopped by.   She brought me a beautiful Poinsettia, some awesome tasting Italian espresso beans and the kind of birthday card that makes you almost pee on yourself.

When I opened the card one of those soft voices that you hear on the prescription med commercial started rattling off the side effects. ¬†The man said: “Side effects may include:

fatigue, scalp stink, hair loss, soggy bottom, acid reflux, stiff neck, cricket joints, whooping farts, ear lobe cramping, excessive¬† talking about cats, fear of bending straws, bug eyes, spontaneous human combustion, New York accent, uncontrollable needful crafting, boogie woogie¬†flu, bunions and constipation.”

LOL, I had to listen to it about a dozen times while writing that down.  I laughed so hard, I had tears coming out of my eyes.

My Facebook page was flooded with birthday wishes all day.

A couple of hours later, my friend Teya stopped by to hug my neck and then my co-workers gathered around and sang Happy Birthday to me.

It was an awesome birthday. ¬†I felt much love and very appreciated all day long. ūüôā

Another Year Almost Over 11/30/2012

•November 30, 2012 • 4 Comments

I went into my shed yesterday morning and saw this cardboard box with Christmas decorations in it.¬† For some reason, I decided to put the decorations up.¬† When I got to the kitchen I emptied one of the boxes of LED lights and saw the receipt dated December of 2004.¬†¬† Wow….that’s how long it’s been since I’ve been in the mood for Christmas decorating?

I don’t have a tree, so I did up the windows.

And the bush outside.

It looked pretty darn festive when I got home last night.  I will need to take a   photo with a real camera instead of the phone.

Tomorrow will be my 56th birthday.  Time sure flew by this year, making it even more important to put my finances in order so that I can get my super small home by the end of next year.

The goal for next year is …… happiness. ūüôā

Living Room Project 11/20/2012

•November 20, 2012 • 3 Comments

I filled in a gazillion little and not so little holes in the living room walls yesterday.

No, it doesn’t stay pink. ¬†When it dries completely, it turns white.

After I paint over those spots, I’ll paint over these missed areas on the floor boards. ¬†Reminder, never ask someone else to do the work if they don’t really give a lovely shit. ¬†Do it yourself!! Rat Bastard!

After that is done, it’s time to do something about this butt ugly concrete floor. ūüôā

It’s all dry this morning.

It sure is hard to get motivated to finish  a project when you never have a whole day off.

I have two chases to take care of this morning. ¬†I was hoping to get a few more, but since Thursday is Thanks Giving Day, I won’t hold my breath. ¬†I probably won’t have anything else until next week.

I finished the Hoodie/Scarf yesterday.

I’m going to take it to mom’s and ask her to put it in the washer and then the dryer, since my dryer kicked the bucket many months ago. ¬†I’m hoping that the dryer will soften up the yarn. ¬†The type of yarn I used made the Hoodie/Scarf a bit stiff and not as soft as I was hoping.

Thursday is one of my 4 days off this year, whoohoo. ¬†I’ll be spending it with my mom and step-dad. ¬†Then Friday it’s back to work.

She will keep on working on this door until she gets it open…..or until I open it for her. ¬† LOL…which ever comes first.

After she opens the door she waits, and waits, and waits, until I finally go see about her.

Sad News Indeed!! 11/18/2012

Manassas News & Messenger and Inside NoVA.com, top Prince William News Sources, closing down.  Rat Bastards!   There goes our only LOCAL news source.   Inside NoVA on Facebook has over 26,000 followers.  I sure hope that they find a way to keep that part going.  We sure depend on it.  Many times we have gotten info when it stormed as to road closures, roads flooding, trees down ect.  It never failed, when we had questions, some one would have the answer.

Look what I saw when I opened my curtains this morning….

Seems that my OTHER neighbors with high pitch, screaming little kids, two doors down are moving out.¬†¬† Whooohooo!¬† If this keeps up, I’ll have nothing but grown up neighbors.¬† Wouldn’t THAT be awesome come spring.¬†¬† LOL, I’m just dreaming.

I’ve got a couple of projects going on this week.¬† I’m working on a scarf hoodie combination.

The other project is repairing a few holes in the wall downstairs.¬† I have moved all my belongings from the downstairs living room ¬†into ¬†my bedroom for the winter, so this will be the perfect time to fix that room.¬† I’ll do a little painting and maybe paint that butt ugly concrete floor.

I put on a crock pot of black-eyed peas before I left for work.¬† They ought to be tender by the time I get back.¬† I’ll have to see what I have ¬†to add to it to give it some flavor tonight.

Pizza Chili 11/15/2012

•November 15, 2012 • 4 Comments

These are the ingredients.

1 lb ground beef (used 2)

1/2 lb ground heart (I couldn’t find any)

1/2 lb ground liver (I couldn’t find any)

1 green bell pepper

1 clove garlic (I used 8)

I small onion (I used a big one)

1 small jar of sliced black olives (I don’t like them)

1 package pepperoni, sliced and diced

1 qt marinara sauce

1 qt water

sea salt, basil, red pepper flakes (I used cayenne) and mozzarella cheese

Brown beef and pepperoni.  Drain fat.

Add green stuff and spices.  I also added a teaspoon of chili powder.

Stir in olives, water, marinara sauce, salt and basil.  I also added a pound of red beans.   After having to spend almost 20 bucks on ingredients, I was determined to stretch this meal out a bit.  Let it cook for about 5 to 10 minutes.   Put into bowls and top with mozzarella cheese.

Tada!!

Very yummy ūüôā ¬†It doesn’t much taste like pizza nor chili, but it’s very good.

I have an  appointment with Jenna in the morning.

My hair is getting on my LAST NERVE and you know what that means!

Wow….it’s freaking…. 11/15/2012

….30 degrees out here and it’s only 10:15 PM. ¬†There was ice on the iQuteness when I walked out of the door at work tonight. ¬†When I got home I could smell the smoke coming from one of the houses down the street that must have a fireplace going. ¬†I love that smell. ¬†Everything was quiet except for the sound of the hated ambulance going down the street…sigh. ¬† When I walked in my cold ass kitchen, I heated up some food and fixed myself a hot cup of chocolate. ¬†¬†Ha, but it sure is nice and cozy in my room.

I need to get something to cook tomorrow while I’m out chasing a car in Gainesville. ¬†I’m thinking of fixing Pizza Chili. ¬†The recipe sounds delicious, so I’ll gather up the ingredients on the way back. ¬†I sure hope it tastes as good as it reads. ūüôā

I had a bit of an issue with my bank this week. ¬†I had deposited a check in person, inside the bank, on Friday. ¬†The next day when I checked on it online, they had listed it as a withdrawal, not a deposit. ¬†The bank was already closed by the time I saw the mistake on Saturday…closed on Sunday….and closed on Monday for the holiday. ¬† ¬†LOL…talk about messing up my balance. ¬†By Monday night stuff was bouncing all over the place and the overdraft protection kicked in. ¬†I know many people my age that hate computers, hate all the technology and are still writing checks to pay their bills. ¬†I’m sure glad I’m not one of them. ¬†I wouldn’t have noticed this screw-up until my statement came in next month. ¬†Even though I do have a love/hate relationship with my computer, I sure love all the technology that comes with it.

I just took my nightly LDN and am going to hit the sack.  Sweet dreams to everyone, I know that mine will be.
